Free cultural event in the Paseo del Parque, Málaga, promoting emerging young artists in performing arts and contemporary music as part of the FestiJoven and MálagaCrea programmes. Suitable for all ages, with doors around 20:30. QUINTETO XXI, a group of friends and students from the "Manuel Carra" Conservatory in Málaga, began playing together in 2024 with the primary goal of showcasing jazz within a classical music conservatory. Since then, they have performed in numerous jam sessions hosted by Clarence Jazz Club, La Polivalente, and La Casa Invisible. Among the various recitals given at the conservatory, the benefit concert in December 2025 for the "Harena" Foundation stands out. Last year, they participated in the "Málaga Crea" competition for young performers, but were disqualified for exceeding the allotted audition time by 21 seconds. Hence the group's name. The members include saxophonist Víctor Valencia, who will begin his classical saxophone studies in September at the Jaén Higher Conservatory; and trumpeter Jesús Santaella, who is also a member of the group Mitad Doble. On piano, Bruno Hock, winner of numerous competitions as a violinist, who will begin his advanced music studies in September in Zurich; the double bassist Uriel Martínez, a new member of the Andalusian Youth Orchestra, who will begin his studies in September at the Málaga Higher Conservatory; and our drummer José Manuel Martín, one of Málaga's great percussionists.
